Planetary Roller Screw

1. High Precision / High Acceleration

2. High Load Capacity / High Rigidity

3. Long Life / Low Noise

The planetary roller screw offers numerous advantages, including high precision, long lifespan, high load capacity, high acceleration, and low noise. Unlike traditional ball screws, it utilizes threaded rollers, which greatly enhance rigidity and extend service life. The rollers are arranged evenly around the screw and do not make contact with each other, reducing friction and noise.

According to Hertz contact theory, the static load capacity of a planetary roller screw is three times that of a ball screw, while its lifespan is fifteen times greater.

● Load & Lifespan
Compared to ball screws, planetary roller screws offer higher dynamic and static load capacities.
The use of threaded rollers instead of balls increases the number of contact points, allowing for greater load and enhanced impact resistance. The difference between planetary roller screws and ball screws.

Features of Planetary Roller Screw
● Rigidity & Strength
Compared to ball screws, planetary roller screws have more contact points and a unique geometric structure at these contact points, resulting in greater rigidity and impact resistance.

● Speed & Acceleration
The planetary roller screw offers higher rotational speeds and greater acceleration. The non-circulating series can achieve speeds up to twice that of ball screws, with accelerations reaching 12000 rad/S2, while the circulating series can reach up to 4000 rad/S2.
● Lead & Pitch
Due to the functional relationship between lead and pitch, the lead of planetary roller screws can be designed smaller than that of ball screws, eliminating the need for a reduction gear to match. Changes in lead do not affect the size of the screw and nut, allowing for more flexibility in meeting customer requirements for direct drive matching.
